PARKERSBURG MURDER - A Parkersburg man is in jail facing a first-degree murder charge in the alleged beating death of his roommate.

Parkersburg Police arrested Joshua Greene, 34, late Tuesday afternoon. He continues to be held without bond in the North Central Regional Jail pending his arraignment in Wood County Circuit Court.

Greene is accused in the death of Jason Tefft, 42, who was pronounced dead on Saturday at WVU Medicine Camden Clark. Police said he had sustained massive brain injuries.

Police began began investigating on Friday when officers and EMS personnel found Tefft unresponsive at his home at 809 Edgelawn Street. Authorities had gone there to look into a battery complaint.

Police Chief Joseph Martin said investigators later determined that Tefft and Greene had been involved in two fights.

14 YEAR OLD SHOT - A 14 year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting and the suspect remains on the loose.

Berkeley County deputies responded to the 100 block of Plaza Court in Martinsburg for a reported shooting at 10:59 Tuesday night. Once on scene, they learned two homes were struck by gunfire. The 14 year-old sustained a single gunshot wound in the incident.

The boy was taken to Berkeley Medical Center where he has was treated and released.

Multiple interviews have been conducted and evidence has been recovered in relation to the shooting. Witnesses told deputies the shooter may have been in a gray Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis.
