James Edward Riley, 87, of Spencer

James Edward Riley, 87, of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at home.

He was born May 31, 1931, at Gandeeville, the son of the late Howard Early and Goldie Faye Morrison Riley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce, Darrell and Wayne Riley; sisters, Mary Whited and Virginia Paxton.

On July 11, 1995, at Point Pleasant, he was united in marriage with Tina M. Hiles.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Hiles Riley of Spencer; sons, Joshua Wine of Parkersburg and Joseph Riley of Spencer; sisters, Ella (Frank) Tatar of Cleveland, Ohio and Judith Harper of Savannah, Ga.; brother, Frank Riley of Spencer; sister-in-law, Juanita Riley of Batesburg, S.C.; many nieces and nephews.

James was a retired 31 years employee of Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills, Ohio. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Ron Daugherty officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. The visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
