Betty Lois Nida, 81, of Looneyville

Betty Lois Nida, 81, of Looneyville, West Virginia died January 27, 2019 at the Heritage Center in Huntington, West Virginia after an extended illness.

She was born December 4, 1937 on Johnson Creek, Roane County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Earl and Thelma Jackson Whited. She formerly worked at Dairy Queen and then worked at the Spencer State Hospital until it's closing.

She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing and was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Nida in 1999; one daughter, Lisa Ann Nida; a brother, Harlan Whited and infant sibling twins.

She is survived by two daughters, Christy Keaton of Amma, West Virginia and Teresa Taylor of Looneyville; three sons, David, Timothy and Randall Nida, all of Spencer; seven sisters, Eloise Miller of Walton, West Virginia, Lilly Mae Friend of Procious, West Virginia, Lula Malone of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Shirley Drennen of Spencer, Linda Williamson of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Kathy Huffman of Walton, and Diane Parker of Spencer; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer. Burial will be in the Rocky Branch Cemetery near Walton. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
