AREA STUDENTS EARN ACADEMIC RECOGNITION AT WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE

Buckhannon, WV—Calhoun County area students have earned academic recognition at West Virginia Wesleyan College for their classroom performance during the 2018 fall semester. President's List Miranda Farmer, Junior, Orma WV Dean's List William Baker, Senior, Grantsville WV Aleah Dye, Junior, Big Bend WV Makayla Smith, Junior, Millstone The criteria for inclusion for the Wesleyan President's List is a 4.0 GPA with a minimum of 12 earned hours for the semester. The criteria for inclusion for the Wesleyan Dean's List is a 3.5 GPA with a minimum of 12 earned hours for the semester. Founded in 1890, West Virginia Wesleyan College is a private residential college affiliated with The United Methodist Church located in Buckhannon WV. The College offers 49 majors, master's degrees in athletic training, business administration, fine arts, and nursing, and a doctorate in nursing. With 85% of the class reporting, 97 percent of Wesleyan's 2017 graduating class reported that they were employed or enrolled in graduate or professional school. Fourteen Wesleyan students have been selected U.S. Department of State Fulbright Scholars and seven as Benjamin A. Gilman Scholars within the past decade.
