Cases of flu are rising in West Virginia schools.

Cases of flu, respiratory and ear infections are increasing in Calhoun Schools this week, according to Kelli Whytsell, school superintendent.

"We are doing extra cleaning and sanitizing in the schools and have hired extra custodians to help with the cleaning," Whytsell said.

"I encourage parents to keep their children at home if they are sick and practice good hygiene with hand washing," she concluded.
