Patty Jane (Ratliff) Putnam, 81 of Turkey Fork Road, Sand Fork WV, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2019 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg WV, following a brief illness.
She was born on August 13, 1937 in Sutton WV, daughter of the late Dasiel Ratliff.
On July 4, 1968 Patty was united in marriage to Hadsyl Putnam who preceded her in death on March 6, 1999.
Patty was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved going to the beach in North Carolina's Outer Banks. She loved buying tennis shoes and shopping with friends. She was always playing with children. She loved her pets, Shepherd Sofie, dog Pepper (who she was always feeding hotdogs) and her cat Stormy at Bev Pritt's house. Her favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. In her later years she worked for the Area Agency on Aging. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed involvement with several different churches in the Gilmer County area.
Patty is survived by 1 daughter, Janie Hitt and husband Randy of Orlando WV; and 1 son Tommy L. Putnam and partner, Carrie Wildman of Sand Fork; 5 grandchildren survive Randy Scott Hitt, Ashley Wells, Kayden Putnam, Morgan Putnam and Halee Wildman; 3 great-grandchildren Alyssa, Maddix and Skylar; and 2 brothers Jim and Ted Ratliff.
Preceding her in death were 1 granddaughter, Mariah Shea Parson; 1 great-grandson, Isaiah Wells; and a brother, Bob Ratliff.
Patty's request for cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy at Sand Fork on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
