David Lee Tomblin, 53, of Pennsboro

David Lee Tomblin, 53, of Pennsboro, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:21 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Miami Valley South Hospital ER in Dayton, Ohio following a short illness.

He was born November 10, 1965 in Weston WV, son of the late Eustace Monroe (November 15, 2014) and Ruth Collins (November 27, 2014) Tomblin.

David was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, Class of 1984. He had a variety of jobs over the years and was an awesome mechanic. His most important job was giving up his work to take care of his parents when they became very ill.

David is survived by his loving sister, Shirley Tomblin of Centerville, OH, and his niece Sara Letner of Kettering OH.

Also surviving is 1 aunt, Ruby Carson (Ray) of Braxton County WV; 1 uncle, Lewis Collins (Lilly) of Craigsville WV; numerous cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Authur and Emsy Tomblin and Oda and Eva Collins and numerous aunts and uncles.

His family would like to take this opportunity to thank the following wonderful people: Donna Hiley, Lisa Smith, and Kevin Baker for traveling in the early morning hours to be with David's immediate family and going far beyond anything expected to show their love and support. Charlene Snyder for always being there for David and treating him like family. Barry Jones and Jim Snyder for being lifelong friends to David. He loved you guys very much. Finally, thank you to all who helped in any way during this difficult time, especially the kind words, prayers and those that contributed to the funeral costs to fulfill David's final wishes.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the John's Cemetery on Turkey Fork. Friends will be received from 12 noon-2:00 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
