Carolyn J. Friend, 84, of Georgia, formerly of Parkersburg

(12/31/2018)
Carolyn J. Friend, 84, of Albany, GA and formerly of Parkersburg, WV died December 28, 2018 in Albany, GA after a brief illness.

Carolyn (CJ) was born on July 14, 1934 in Pennsboro, WV and was the daughter of the late Roy James Erp and Irma Conley Erp Hathaway.

Carolyn loved her family and always found ways to enjoy life no matter what obstacles she faced. Positive thinking and adjusting to her circumstances was how she lived life. Being a Mother, Grandmother and caregiver brought her the happiest moments here on earth. Early Wednesday morning she left her broken body behind to meet her Savior Jesus Christ and have a beautiful reunion with many others that arrived home earlier. Her infectious smile and laugh will truly be missed.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Ruth A. Brashear and her husband Dr. Robert M. Brashear of Albany, GA; son, Mark L. Friend and the late Christi W. Friend of Williamson, GA; two grandchildren, Jordan K. Friend and John Mark Friend of Williamson, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband R.B. Friend.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 4th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Friday from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV.
