She was born in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Eli and Mary Barnes Sidwell. She was a homemaker all her life.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Bessie Metz Basnett and husband Jerry, Mary Keener and Dean Byrd, Delores Keener Foster and husband Paul; five sons, Raymond Metz and wife Deloris, Floyd Keener Jr., Richard Keener and wife Lorene, Jimmy Keener and wife Michele, Bobby Keener and JoAnn Swearingten; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 brother Eli Sidwell.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Wesley C. Metz, and her second husband Floyd Keener; a daughter Alice Keener; a grandson Charles Metz; 4 sisters, Marie Carder, Virginia Metz, Sophie Sidwell, and Alice Sidwell; 5 brothers, Bill Sidwell, Kenneth Sidwell, Charles Sidwell, James Sidwell, and Homer Sidwell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday December 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville with Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
