ORRVILLE, OH - Sonja Drake, 69, of Orrville, OH, passed away December 17, 2018, at Lifecare Hospice in Wooster OH. She was born on March 11,1949, in Oka, WV, the daughter of Woodrow and Dorma McClain. Sonja was united in marriage to Karell Drake on May 27th, 1967. Sonja was an angel loving everyone that touched her life. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and with her family. Sonja and her husband Karell started a co-partnership tree company named K&S Tree Service that was successfully in business in the Stark, Summit, Holmes, and Wayne County Ohio areas for over 25 years. Sonja is survived by her sibling brothers Jimmy, Delano, Ralph, and David McClain, and by her sibling sisters Wanda Hornback, Lois Smith, and Evaleen Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda and James Belanger, and her son, Christopher and April Drake. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher Drake, Rebecca Drake, and Sara Belanger, and her step grandchildren Christopher and David Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Lee Drake. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20 at Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Philip Linger officiating. Burial will be in the Elana (Zion Hill) Cemetery, Elana. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 at the funeral home.
