GRANTSVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH FALSELY REPORTING CRIME

(12/15/2018)
A Northside, Grantsville woman has been charged by the State Police for falsely reporting an emergency incident, a misdemeanor.

Roberta K. Nicholson, 48, is in Central Regional Jail.

A criminal complaint says Nicholson called Calhoun 911 saying a window was broken out of her living room at a location where she would ordinarily be sitting, indicating she was in danger.

When State Trooper Young investigated, Nicholson said she had cleaned up the broken glass, and there was no need for an officer to respond, according to the complaint.

The officer, in the complaint, says when he questioned Nicholson, she become verbally angry and aggressive.

When asked about previous statements made to the officer, the woman denied her previous statements.

According to the complaint the situation continued to escalate toward the officer and the woman's mother, after which she admitted to breaking the window, says the complaint.
