UPDATE 11/27/2018 Noon - A missing FedEx driver has been found safe.

Roane deputies said Tuesday the driver was located in Orchard Run area of Roane County, way off the beaten path.

Troopers, as well as deputies with the Roane County Sheriff's Department, went to help the driver Tuesday after he finally called and said he was stuck.

The driver called the sheriff's department and said he was stuck and needed help. He also sounded disoriented, according to the sheriff, but no medical emergency has been confirmed.

Deputies said the man is OK and is getting checked out by EMS. It appears his vehicle was stuck.

ORIGINAL STORY - Roane County 911 said authorities are searching for a missing FedEx driver.

The driver was last seen Monday evening in the Otto/Clover/Orchard Run area.

At 11 a.m. Tuesday authorities were searching in the Pink and Beech area of Calhoun.

The Roane County Sheriff's Office said the driver sent a text indicating his vehicle is stuck, but a search has not turned up anything.

The last message from the driver was received about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The name of the driver was released, but he was described as a black male, about 50 years old with facial hair. He was wearing a FedEx uniform.

Anyone who has seen the driver or the white van or have any information is asked to call Roane County 911 at 304-927-0911.

Law enforcement officers have been in touch with the man's family.

West Virginia State Police are investigating and are being assisted by the sheriff's office. State Police and deputies are searching for the driver.
