Raymond Keith Shaffer, 76 of Gandeeville

Raymond Keith Shaffer, 76 of Gandeeville, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Charleston General Hospital.

He was born August 17, 1942 a son of the late Roy R and Dorothy M Shaffer. Ray was a Marine Corp Veteran, former chief of the GHVFD and retired from UCC. He never met a stranger and tried to help anyone he could; loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and fishing pals.

He is survived by his wife Letha Shaffer of 37 years of loving the most wonderful man ever; sons: Randell (Becky) Shaffer, Scott A. Shaffer all of Clendenin, West Virginia; step-sons Dana (Cindy) Barton of Cross Lanes, West Virginia and Jason Barton of Gandeeville; sister Bonnie Legg of Charleston, West Virginia and brother Jerry Shaffer of Lewisburg, West Virginia; five grandchildren: Jennifer Thomas, Heather Crawford, Amanda Pecka, Derrick and Johnathan Shaffer; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother David Shaffer and a sister Sandra Kincaid.

Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer, West Virginia. Visiting hours will be 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery at Harmony, West Virginia.
