HAROLD WILLIAM CRAWFORD - Parkersburg

Harold William Crawford, 79, of Parkersburg, died Jan. 29, 2003, at the Carehaven of Pleasants Nursing Facility, Belmont. He was born May 28, 1923, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Steven William Crawford and Hattie (Poling) Crawford. Mr. Crawford had retired from the Quaker State Oil Refinery, St. Marys and was a World War II United States Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean (Curry) Crawford; one son, Leslie Devon Crawford of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son-in-law, Ronald D. Hoyt of Washington; two sisters, Juanita Cheuvront of Parkersburg, Evadeen Sellers of Kenewick, Wash.; one grandson, Steven William Hoyt of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Diane Crawford Hoyt in 1999; four brothers, Veon, Ted, Marvin and Woodrow Crawford; and two sisters, Ivalee Lee and Merle Huber. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Doug Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, where military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 107 of Ripley. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
