Ernest A. "Ernie" Somervill, 90, of Clover

Ernest A. "Ernie" Somervill, 90, of Clover, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital.

He was born August 9, 1928 in Spencer, West Virginia, a son of the late Samuel and Earnestine Arnott Somervill.

He was retired from Harris Oil Company and formerly worked at Kellwood Company and Hardman's Supply. He attended the Clover Community Church and was a former hunter, fisherman, farmer, and just loved the outdoors. He was a community servant and gave tirelessly to the former Clover Grade School and the Clover Volunteer Fire Department, where he was one of the founding members.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rose Marie "Toots" Conner Somervill; two daughters, Sharon Starcher and her companion, Richard Cogar of Spencer and Susan Nichols and her husband Pete of Clover; a granddaughter, Allison Spaur and her husband Cameron of Clover; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Webb and Kyler Spaur; and his faithful companions, his dog Dozer and his cats Patches and Smokey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry L. and Samuel H. Somervill.

Service will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Clover Community Church with Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Clover Cemetery #1, 3533 Clay Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
