| Dessie Louise Wolfe 95 of Glenville, WV (Kanawha Drive Community) departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her living family.
She was born April 12, 1923 in Gilmer County, WV daughter of the late Willie L. and Blanche Ellyson Jones.
Dessie was a homemaker and former cook for Kinney Shoe in Glenville, having retired in 1985. In her spare time, Dessie enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, singing at the Gilmer County Senior Center. Dessie loved to care for her family, she was always ready to cook, and truly loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On July 21, 1941 Dessie was united in marriage to Lloyd G. Wolfe, who preceded her in death on August 6, 1966.
Surviving are 3 children, Janet Davis and husband Bobby of Elyria, OH Joyce Stephens and husband David of Parkersburg, WV and Gary L. Wolfe and wife Brenda of Glenville, 5 Grandchildren, Jared D. Stephens (Sarah) of Parkersburg, Jacob Wolfe (Amelia) of Shock, WV, Jenny N. Wolfe of Glenville, Jessica Phares of Newberne, WV; and Jeremy Wolfe of West Virginia, and 6 great-grandchildren, Brayden A. Stephens, Austin Lyons, Greyson L. and Addison R. Wolfe, and Katherine and Avery Phares.
Along with her parents and husband, Dessie is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Madeline Davidson, Hershall Jones, and an infant brother.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2018 with Pastor Danny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery near Glenville. Friends will be received from 11-1 Friday morning at the mortuary. |
