COMMISSIONER HELMICK DEFEATS ARTHUR FOR THIRD TERM - School Levy Goes Down, Other Calhoun Results

Incumbent County Commissioner Kevin Helmick has won a third term, defeating Independent Craig Arthur 1,081 to 949.

The School Levy was defeated by 1,057 to 960.

Roger Hanshaw(R) defeated David Walker (D) 1,120 to 926 in 33rd District. Hanshaw won the race with 2,911 votes to Walker's 2,289.

Calhoun voters approved the constitutional Amendment 1 regarding abortion 1,057 to 960.

They favored Amendment 2: Legislative Authority over Budgeting for State Judiciary Amendment by 1,046 to 802.

Both constitutional amendments appear to have passed in WV.

For US Senator, Patrick Morrisey (R) defeated Joe Manchin (D) 1,019 to 929.

Manchin has won the statewide race.

Republican Charles Clements defeated Democrat Denny Longwell 1,128 to 739 for State Senator of 2nd Senatorial District.

Clements has won the race.

For US House of Representatives 2nd Congressional District, Alex X. Mooney (R) defeated Talley Sergent (D) 1,149 to 745.

Mooney has won the race.

Evan Jenkins and Tim Armstead led the pack for WV Supreme Court.

A local total of 2,139 voters with 4,753 registered voters participated in the election, or 45%.
