Leslie Freeland, 76, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Division in Charleston, West Virginia.

He was born December 1, 1941 in Spencer, a son of the late William and Effie McKown Freeland, He was the former owner and operator of Freeland's Sawmill, former manager of a lumber company at Nebo, West Virginia, a mechanic at Hildreth's in Spencer, attended the Slate United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marcia Freeland; children, Leslie K. Freeland of Ripley, West Virginia, Dewayne A. Freeland of Ravenswood, West Virginia, Angel A. McGraw of Akron, Ohio, Ned Gipson of Spencer, and Rebecca Gipson of St. Augustine, Florida; a sister, Peggy Saunders of Spencer; a brother, James Freeland of Reedy, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Sherrin L., Roger L., Billy, Charles, and infant twins, Larry and Jerry.

Service will be at 11:00am Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Danny Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Otto Cemetery. Visiting is one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
