ATTEMPTED MURDER - A Marmet man accused of trying to kill his wife is facing multiple charges after he was arrested Saturday night.

Robert David Masker, 61, is charged with malicious wounding and attempted murder, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.

The release said Masker called a family member and seemed suicidal. When Marmet police arrived, the released said Masker came out of his room and surrendered. According to the release, Masker had minor cuts to his neck from a possible suicide attempt.

During the investigation, police found Masker's wife inside the home bleeding from her neck. She indicated to police that Masker had cut her.

She was taken to the hospital and is in serious condition.

Masker is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond.
