Millard Ray Wiant, 82, of Spencer

Millard Ray Wiant, 82, of Spencer, passed away October 3, 2018, at home.

Ray was born July 1, 1936, at Glenville, the son of the late Ray and Katrina Powell Wiant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Wiant; son, Ronald "Ronnie" Wiant; and brother-in-law, Carry J. Reed.

He was a retired surveyor, an Air Force veteran and a graduate of Spencer High School, Class of 1954. Ray was a Christian and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer. His hobbies included reading, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two sisters, Clara Everett of Vienna and Sheila Reed of Parkersburg; two nieces, Carrie (Darren) Smith and Katrina Reed; nephew, Robin (Beth) Reed; three grand nieces, Kristen (Loren) Cullum, Mackenzie Reed and Kailey Reed; step nephew, Zack Hively.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Spencer, with the Rev. Mark Wood officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
