Jackie Robinson, 86, of Grantsville

Jackie Robinson, 86, of Grantsville, WV passed away at her home on October 12, 2018.

Jackie was born in Calhoun County, WV on August 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Mary Edith Gainer and was the last member of her immediate family.

She was a 60 year member of First Baptist Church of Grantsville and a 60 year member of OES and a past Worthy Matron. Jackie served twelve years on the Calhoun Board of Education and was the first woman to serve as president. She was a member of Calhoun Development Corporation, and was a former Girl Scout and 4-H Leader.

Jackie was an employee of Rubber Fabricators, A & P Store, Calhoun County Committee on Aging, and Nationwide Insurance Company.

She loved to be outside working in her many flower beds and keeping her grounds manicured and ready for the next Easter egg hunt, graduation party, sleigh riding, and Christmas decorations.

Jackie is survived by four daughters, Deborah (David) Campbell, Pamela (Ron) Holbert, Charlotte (Glen) Siegrist, and Shara (Mike) Arison; two grandchildren, Robert K. Campbell and Ellen A. Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Kail and Jarrett Campbell; eight step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Robinson, brother, Willis (Tom) Gainer, sisters Glenna Burroughs, Ruby Brown, and Emogene Hileman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Grantsville with Rev. Ron Chesser and Bob Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery.
