CALHOUN MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL CLOSED THURSDAY-FRIDAY CORRECTING HVAC AND MOLD PROBLEMS - Pleasant Hill/Arnoldsburg Schools Open

Calhoun Superintendent of Schools Kelli Whytsell says Calhoun-Middle High School with be closed Thursday and Friday to remediate HVAC and mold issues.

Pleasant Hill and Arnoldsburg Elementary will be open as using with an early out scheduled for Friday.

Whytsell said "We had two HVAC Technicians from the WV Dept. of Education Office of School Facilities do a walk through of CMHS on Wednesday."

"They did a thorough visual inspection of the facility and identified areas of surface mold. They provided a protocol to follow to clean the areas."

"They have also provided us with technical assistance to correct the HVAC system. We started working Wednesday afternoon and evening and will continue to work until completed," Whytsell said.

AES and PHE will have after school on Thursday with after-school buses running as scheduled.

CMHS Report Cards and General Summative Assessment Results will go home students on Monday.

"We appreciate your understanding as we remedy the problems. CMHS staff will report to CMHS tomorrow and Friday as scheduled," concluded Whytsell.
