Fenton Pierce Fields Jr., 91, of Spencer

Fenton Pierce Fields Jr., 91, of Spencer, passed away October 7, 2018, at the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

He was born March 15, 1927, at Dawes, the son of the late Fenton P. Sr. and Vesta Spencer Fields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Award Fields and Lawrence Fields; and a sister, Jewell Niday.

Survivors include his wife, of 64 years, Ruth Cottrell Fields; daughters and son-in-law, Dina and Randall Walker, Debbie Cline and Sandy Brabham, all of Spencer; grandchildren, Regan Walker, Jessica and Philip Oliver, Danelle and Russ McCray, Brandon and Megan Cline, Whitney Cline, Casey and Anna Brabham, Cody and Courtney Brabham; great - grandchildren, Paige Oliver, Noah Oliver, Taylor McCray, Lincoln Cline, Aubree Brabham, Braxten Brabham, Gwendolyn, Miriam and Huck Brabham; a sister, Golda Conley of Charleston.

He was a retired employee of Pennzoil, with 29 years of service. Fenton was a 67 year member of the Henry's Fork Baptist Church, Tariff, where he faithfully served the Lord. After moving to Spencer, he attended the First Baptist Church of Spencer. He was a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Robert Keen, the Rev. Mark Wood and the Rev. George Chandler officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

The visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
