Jo Ann Skidmore 63 of Tanner WV, departed this life peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown WV, following a brief illness.She was born on November 25, 1954 in Lorraine OH, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Boggs Skidmore. Jo Ann was a graduate of Lorraine High School in Ohio, class of 1973 and she attended classes at Glenville State College. Jo Ann worked as a teacher coordinator for the Gilmer County Head Start, she worked as housekeeping supervisor for a time at Sunbridge Health Care in Glenville, and retired as a lineman for Simonton Windows in Ritchie County in 2013. In her spare time, Jo Ann enjoyed reading, swimming, Stephen King books and movies, spending time with her family, and caring for her children and grandchildren whenever possible. Surviving are her two loving children, Bill Wiant of Tanner, Jamie Frymier and husband David of Tanner, 4 grandchildren, Heidi Wiant of Concord University in Athens WV; Savannah Stanley, Don Stanley III, and Madison Dodd all of Tanner WV and 3 siblings, Kathy McCullough of Glenville, Walter Skidmore and wife Irene of Ohio, and Rick Skidmore and wife Karen of Charleston WV. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, family, and kids who always considered Jo Ann as their grandma. Along with her parents, Joann is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Barbara McCullough and Bud Skidmore. A celebration of life honoring Jo Ann will be conducted at a later date. Ellyson Mortuary, Inc is honored to assist the family of Jo Ann Skidmore with arrangements.
