Joann Dawson, 75, of Grantsville

Joann Dawson, 75, of Grantsville, WV went to her heavenly home on September 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 11, 1943 in Big Bend, WV to the late Shirdie and Eulah Hosey Richards.

She attended Calhoun County High School and worked at Economy Industries, Harrisville, WV for about 18 years, R.P.R. Industries for about 3 years, and retired from the Calhoun County Board of Education. She attended and was a member of the Norman Ridge Methodist Church where she went since she was a very small child.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Dawson, four sons, Douglas and Beverly Dawson of Big Springs, WV; Allen and Tina Dawson of Big Bend, WV; Greg and Sue Dawson of Grantsville, WV; and Jerry Dawson (Michelle) of Reedy, WV; 5 grandchildren, Greg, Debbie Smith (Russell), Derek, Kenny, and Monique; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brantley, Bronson, and Mayle; three brothers, Roger (Cheryl) Richards, Robert (Joan) Richards, and Kenny (Tracy) Richards, and many nieces, nephews, and family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandson, Alex McKenzie Dawson; brother, Donald Richards, and two sisters, Carol Hovey and Doris Lanzo.

A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Davis. officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Norman Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
