Dolan A. Godfrey, 74, of Grantsville, WV, died Sunday, February 25,
2001 at his home.
He was the son of the late Layman and Mary Smith Godfrey. He was a WW
II veteran and
retired from Calhoun General Hospital, and was a member of the Snyder
Chapel Community
Church.
Mr. Godfrey is survived by his wife of 50 years, Madeline June Sampson
Godfrey, daughters,
Diana Nicholas of Ripley, WV and Donna Cain of Grantsville and a son
Richard Godfrey of
Ohio. Also surviving are brothers, Donald Godfrey and Layman Godfrey
and a sister, Wanda
Kelly all of Grantsville, six grandchildren, Laura Kerby of Spencer,
WV, Christopher Nicholas,
Christa Godfrey, Amy Cain, James Dean Cain all of Grantsville and John
Paul Godfrey of Ohio
and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Clifford and
Paul Godfrey, Gladys
Hopkins and Delta Hayhurst.
Funeral Services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville
Thursday, March 1, 2001 at
11:00 a.m. Pastor Farley Blankenship will officiate. Interment will be
in the Gibson Cemetery,
Arnoldsburg, WV. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday
evening from 5-8
p.m.
