WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - WV Mother Shoots Her Children, One Fatally - Two Dead During Child Custody Exchange

(09/22/2018)
SHOOTS CHILDREN - A Berkeley County woman who allegedly shot both of her kids, one fatally, is now behind bars.

West Virginia State Police have arrested Julie Orellana, 46, of Gerrardstown.

State Police say around 4 p.m. Thursday, an 11-year-old girl called 911 and said her mother shot her in the leg.

A West Virginia State Sergeant responded and spoke with the 11-year-old, and was told her 8-year-old sister was still at her mother's home. The Sergeant went to the home on the 200 block of Tall Pine Lane in Gerrardstown and found the 8-year child dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

A search for the suspect ensued. Around 8 a.m. on Friday, law enforcement officials say they found the Orellana in a wooded area with a handgun.

She was taken into custody without incident. The case is still under investigation.

TWO DEAD - Two people are dead late Friday afternoon in a shooting that happened during a child custody exchange at the GoMart in Craigsville, Nicholas County Sheriff William F. Nunley said.

One man killed another man.

He said deputies attempted to talk the shooter down, but he turned the gun on himself. That man died, along with the person he shot.

The children are OK, and the scene is secure at this time, according to the sheriff.
