CLARKSBURG HOSTAGE- Police were called to the scene of an active hostage situation, according to the Harrison County Sheriff.

Police said a man barricaded himself in the basement of the home and was armed. The hostage was able to get out, according to the sheriff.

SWAT tried negotiating with him for at least an hour before the man shot himself.

Police said the suspect shot himself and was transported by ambulance to UHC. He has since died.

MORGANTOWN SHOOTING - Authorities have released new details surrounding a shooting incident that happened in Morgantown, Monday.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriffs Office, deputies responded to Landis Lane off of Lower Booth Road for a reported shooting.

Once on scene deputies found one man with a gunshot wound to his back. He was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. There's no word on his condition at this time.

Fifty-six-year-old Kenneth Stevens was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding Assault.

Stevens was arraigned and is being held on $40,000 bond.
