William B. Young, Jr., 67, of Spencer

William B. Young, Jr., 67, of Spencer, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, following an extended illness. He was born October 6, 1950 at Spencer, a son of the late William B. and Wilda V. Fox Young.

He had worked for the WVDOH, and had been a bus driver for the Head-Start program. He was a member of the NRA, and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Young loved camping and astronomy, and enjoyed watching Pastor Calvin Ray Evans' program. He was a "one of a kind" and never met a stranger. His favorite love was being a father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Young.

Survivors include daughters, Alison Walton of Winnabow, NC, Wendy Ryan of Gandeeville, Jennifer Young of Spencer, Kimberly Wolfe of Conway, SC; sons, Chad Young of Weston, and Chris Anderson of Spencer. He is also survived by a special grandson, with whom he shared his home, Isaiah Parsons. Survivors also include brothers, Randy, Herman, and Richard Young; sisters, Lily Rogers, Rose Young, and Tammy Castle. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, September 3, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Interment will take place in the Swank Cemetery, Speed. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of service.
