A Celebration of Life for Francis E. Cain, 93, was held Saturday at the Family Life Center at the Brooksville Missonary Baptist Church.

Friends, neighbors, and family came from far and wide to remember Gentlemen Francis, who may best be remembered for his many contribution to Calhoun people and the community, in addition to his life dedicated to farming and oil and gas production.

Stories about his generosity were flowing, one persons recalling his generosity helping after her natural glass depleted, saying he made an agreement to use his nearby well if she paid for the gas line, and thereafter gave her free gas.

Another person said he let his family move in an old house he owned free of charge, the family going through tough times.

Perhaps his generosity was best expressed by parishioners of his Brooksville church, long supporting the church mission financially, in addition to devoting thousands of hours teaching the gospel.

The celebration was held on his hallowed ground, family members saying he had a real dislike for funerals and hospitals.
