Billy Carson Lowe, 88, of Chesapeake

Billy Carson Lowe, 88, of Chesapeake, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, at the Hillcrest Health Center, Danville.

He was a coal miner for 38 years. Billy last worked at Imperial Colliery Coal Company, Eskdale and was a lifelong member of the UMWA. He was also an Army veteran.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Ball; stepfather, Albert Ball; brothers, Richard Ball and George Ball.

Survivors include his wife, of 67 years, Louella Lowe of Chesapeake; son, Larry (Judy) Lowe of Chesapeake; grandsons, Rick Lowe of Chesapeake and Kevin Lowe of Fosterville; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one on the way; brothers, Jimmie Ball of Reedy, Charley Ball of Chesapeake, Frank Ball and Elbie Ball both of Greenview.

The visitation will be at 2:00 - 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 8 in the mausoleum chapel of Madison Memory Gardens, Madison. The service will be at 2:30 p.m. with Minister Richard Runyan assisted by Frank Ball.

Military Honors will be accorded by the W.Va. Honor Guard and the Daniel Boone Post 5778, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Madison.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Hillcrest nursing staff for the love and care that you gave. Also, thanks to Dad's special aide, Gracie.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the Lowe family.
