| Donna Jordan is the new president of the Minnora Community Center. Jordan and other new board members were elected last week during a reorganization meeting. Jordan had resigned the board position prior to standing for office again. "There was to be an opportunity for the board to make a fresh start," she said. "The board now has new members and some positive momentum to keep it moving in the right direction." Janet Stewart was elected vice-president. Stewart will have oversight of the facilities kitchen. JoAnn Pauley was elected secretary and Jim White was elected treasurer. Events planned for the center include line-dancing, including classes, on Friday, January 24 starting at 6 p.m. No admission fee, but donations are appreciated. Hot dogs, chili and cornbread available, plus a quilt raffle. Another auction has been scheduled for February 1 and a Valentine's Day event is being planned for February 14. The ramp dinner is planned for the spring and the group is looking into the possibility of bringing bingo back. A questionnaire will soon be available to get the public input on activities. "The board wants public opinion and involvement," said Jordan. Jordan can be reached at 655-7149. |
