CHEAT LAKE GIRL SHOT - A man has been charged in connection with the shooting of an 8-year-old girl in Cheat Lake Friday evening.

49-year-old Michael Nichols has been charged with illegally possessing a firearm. Nichols told police he was holding the gun when he accidentally fired it. Police say Nichols had a previous domestic battery charge that prohibited him from possessing a gun.

The bullet went through a wall at the residence, hitting the girl in the head. She remains in Ruby Memorial Hospital.

LOST CREEK STABBING - A man has been charged with malicious wounding after stabbing a man multiple times in Harrison County.

According to the criminal complaint, Justin Satterfield was in an argument with the victim, when another man tried to break it up. That man says Satterfield attempted to stab him, and the victim then tried to stop Satterfield. The victim (who later told officials he had tried to stop Satterfield because he thought the other man had been stabbed) was then stabbed three times.

According to the complaint, the victim's father attempted to stop Satterfield, and Satterfield bit him.

Satterfield is currently in North Central Regional Jail.

POCA SHOOTING -One person is injured after a shooting at a boat ramp in Poca, WV.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, one person received a minor gunshot wound to the leg.

West Virginia State Police along with Putnam County Deputies and Kanawha County Deputies are looking for people of interest in Kanawha County.

They say no other details are available at this time.

MAN SHOOTS BROTHER - An Eskdale man has been arrested on multiple charges after deputies say he called 911 to report shooting his brother.

Mark Allen Auber II, 32, of Eskdale, WV, has been charged with malicious wounding, a felony, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Office says on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018, Mark Allen Auber called 911 to report shooting his brother, Michael Anthony Auber.

According to deputies, the two were arguing outside a house when Mark said he was acting in self-defense and shot Michael twice, then kicked him as he lay on the ground.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment to gunshot wounds in a leg and his left arm. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. No update on his condition is yet available.

The shooter was interviewed by detectives and charged late last night.
