Carol Jean Miller, 78, of Spencer

Carol Jean Miller, 78, of Spencer, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Roane General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, Spencer, after an extended illness. She was born October 31, 1939 at Huntington, a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Perkins Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Gay Miller in 1996; daughters, Medie Hall and Barbara Fields; son, Levi Miller, Jr.; grandson, Montana Hall; three sisters and one brother. Survivors include daughters, Regina Marks of Spencer, Beverly Arthur of Milford, Ind. and Tammy Nichols also of Spencer; son, Mark Miller of Ripley; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Carol was a former cook at the Roane County Sheriff's Office and caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed walks and working crossword puzzles. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 23 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Bowers Cemetery, Spencer.
