Patsy Ruth Greathouse, 91, of Spencer

Patsy Ruth Greathouse, 91, of Spencer, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018 at home. She was born December 12, 1926 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Lloyd Parsons, Sr. and Leora Fluharty Parsons. Mrs. Greathouse loved her family, genealogy, long rides in the car, and was a collector of anything associated with cardinals. She was a kind hearted woman who never wanted to be the center of attention but was always in the background helping others. She will be missed by many friends and loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Irvin Greathouse; daughters, Sandra Morrison and Pam Brasher and her husband, Johnny; grandson and his girlfriend, Nathan Morrison and Whitney McHenry; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Parsons, Jr. and Jack H. Parsons; a half-sister, Frances Whaley; and a son-in-law, David Morrison. Following the wishes of Mrs. Greathouse, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hillcrest Baptist Church or the Roane County Animal Shelter. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
