Harold Euell Russell 82, formerly of Creston

Harold Euell Russell 82, formerly of Creston WV, a long time resident of Miletree Center in Spencer, passed away July 11, 2018 at Roane General Hospital. He was a son of the late Harold & Flossie "Dink" Woodring Russell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Eugene (Bob) and Louis Russell and a half-sister Opal. He is survived by his brother Charles of Creston, his sister-in-law Eva Russell and two nephews. He worked for the late Lashley Depue on his farm and was the main lawn mower man in the Creston area. He also worked on the Creston Ferry. He loved camping, hunting and had a host of friends. Before breaking his femur, he was a greeter at the Southern Baptist Church of Elizabeth. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 15, 2018 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with Rick Williams officiating. Viewing will be 2 hours prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be at McCray-Snyder Cemetery of Creston.
