PHILLIPI SHOTS FIRED - Deputies have arrested a man they said fired shots towards a residence in Barbour County. Anthony Mayle, 46, of Philippi, was driving a Chevrolet S10 on Monday, July 9, when he stopped in the middle of the road on Ford Run Road, yelled something, and fired a pistol out of the window of the vehicle towards a residence, according to deputies. Deputies said that they spotted a vehicle matching the description of Mayle's on Walnut Street in Philippi and initiated a traffic stop. Mayle admitted to deputies that he did fire shots due to an earlier altercation between him and another male that he believed was at the residence. Mayle is charged with wanton endangerment.
