TEENAGER SIMONS WILL BE BURIED TODAY - Sudden Death For 15-Year-Old

A Roane County youth, who had reported to be playing basketball earlier in the week at his Spencer school, died suddenly on Mulberry Ridge. He was taken by the Roane County Emergency Squad to Roane General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Joshua David Simons, 15, died January 16, 2003, with no cause of death being released.

Funeral services will be held today at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Keaton Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Renee and Tom Wilson of Spencer and David and Dawn Simons of Cottageville; one sister, Tara Alvis of Spencer; a half-sister, Kayla Simons of Cottageville; and his grandparents, Bill and Sandy Shreve, Gertrude Shreve and Patsy and Carol Simons, all of Spencer, and Virgil and Opal Keaton of Left Hand, W.Va.
