MAN STABBED - A man is fighting for his life in a Charleston hospital after he was stabbed on the city's West Side.

Charleston Police say it all stemmed from a fight, where the stabbing victim hit another man in the head with a piece of loose asphalt off the street. He was not seriously hurt.

But, investigators say, at some point he pulled a knife and stabbed the other man in the chest.

The stabbing victim was rushed into surgery at CAMC General Hospital. As of Friday night, he was in critical, but stable condition.

Police questioned the man who had the knife. However, they say it's not clear at this time whether he'll be facing charges.

HOLD UP - St. Albans Police are investigating an armed robbery.

Police say about 1:10 in the morning Wednesday they were called to Shirley's on B Street for an armed robbery.

The suspect appeared to be wearing a dark gray shirt, blue jeans with holes in them and a camouflage baseball hat with an unknown patch on it.

Police say the man showed a handgun during the robbery and got away with an amount of cash.
