NEW HEALTH REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS ENTERING SCHOOL

(06/20/2018)
The State of West Virginia is now requiring wellness check-ups for students before they return to school including a physical and a trip to the dentist.

Beginning in 2012-2013, West Virginia state law required that all students entering the school system for the first time must provide proof of immunizations.

Different ages require different immunizations. These immunizations start in pre-kindergarten and go all the way to the 12th grade. Many of the immunizations required are also required by colleges and universities in order to attend.

Now is a good time to schedule medical appointments.

Parents can contact the Board of Education for a list of immunizations required by grade.
