2018:MCCORMICKS CAUGHT YARD SITTIN' ON A SUMMER DAY - A Faded Family Tradition

2018 - I drove about 30 miles on Calhoun roads Sunday and saw nary a person sittin' on a front porch or nary a yard sitter, untiL ... Such was a preoccupation of families a generation or two back. Now folks, including young people, huddle inside their abodes to seek 21st Century entertainment or be comforted by air conditioning. It was not a surprise to be driving down Phillips Run near Grantsville to spot Jim and Evelyn Yoak McCormick sittin' in the front yard. They have been married 63 years. Both have been more than active citizens, not only raising their own family but several foster children, and always giving back to the community.
