ALERT UPDATE: FRONTIER LANDLINE SERVICES MOSTLY OPERATING

(06/17/2018)
6/17/2018 9 AM - It appears that most landline services have been restored and are functioning Sunday morning, including most 911 service, not confirmed by Frontier.

6/17/2018 1 A.M. - Most Frontier service remained out at midnight, although Calhoun 911 reported some intermittent service.

Calhoun residents have problems reaching 911, although it appears 254 customers can call 911 by using 304-354-9271.

Cell phone service is not available or intermittent.

Calhoun 911-OES Director Julie Sears said the people is reportedly affecting other counties too, as it continues into Sunday.

6/16/2018 - Calhoun 911-0ES Director Julie Sears says the county is having Frontier phone issues again Saturday morning and throughout Saturday.

"I am being told over 600 lines in the Arnoldsburg (655) prefix are down, but I am inclined to believe it is way more than that. It seems that 354 numbers can call other 354 numbers but not long distance," Sears said.

People can call ANY emergencies into the 911 administration line at 304-354-9271.

It seems like 655 cannot originate any emergency calls to 911 or 304-354-9271.

It could be that a person on cell phone in 655 area can call 911 at 304-354-9271.

It seems this is widespread problem affecting Kanawha, Wood, Wirt and Roane Counties. We do not have an estimated time of restoration.

With the temps predicted to reach the low 90's I wanted to remind people to check on their neighbors and the elderly, Sears concluded.
