David Charles Pritt, 71, of Sand Fork

David Charles Pritt age 71 of Sand Fork, WV went to be with the lord in the early morning hours of Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center following an extended illness.

Born April 19, 1947 in Glenville, David is the son of the late Ralph and Ruby Lamb Pritt.

David graduated from Glenville High School in 1965. He attended Glenville State College and completed a Board of Regents Degree in 1981. David was a sixteen year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a Vietnam Vet. He retired after twenty-eight years of service with Hope Gas, Inc. He was a member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church.

David married the love of his life, Beverly Hathaway Pritt, on February 23, 1968. They celebrated fifty years of marriage on February 23, 2018.

David enjoyed woodworking-crafting, reading, bird watching, traveling, and celebrating special occasions with family and friends. He was called the "tool man" due to his willingness to share. He was especially proud of his family's Wall of Honor display which covered the period from the Civil War to the present day.

David is survived by his wife, Beverly Pritt, one son, David Charles Pritt, Jr. (Tammy) of Martinsburg, WV; one sister, June Carr (Howard) of Sand Fork, WV; one brother, Terry Pritt (Connie) of Glenville, WV; and special friends, Malcolm and Lurenda Allison and children of Sand Fork, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by 1 brother, Allen Pritt.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 with Pastor Brett Reinhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery in Glenville. Friends will be received from 11-1 Saturday at the mortuary.
