TWO SPENCER MEN ARRESTED ON FELONY CHARGES

(05/22/2018)
Two Spencer men were arrested last week on unrelated felony charges, according to the Times Record/Roane County Reporter.

Joshua T. Slider, 33, of 335-3 Pike St. was charged with grand larceny and destruction of property for the March 11 theft of an ATV and other items from his neighbor, Chris Muniz of 335-2 Pike St., who said someone damaged his work truck stealing gasoline to put in his ATV before it was stolen.

Another suspect. Nathan Selmon, was originally charged with the crime, but those charges were dropped. Slider was arraigned by Roane Magistrate Ron White and lodged in the regional jail in lieu of $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing.

In another case, Neal Swartentruber, 20, allegedly failed to complete his annual registration as a sex offender. He was arraigned by White last week and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bond. He returned to court Monday and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. At the same time, his bond was reduced to $5,000.
