Lora Faye Tomblin, 89, of Sand Fork

Lora Faye Tomblin age 89 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this life in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, following an extended illness.

She was born July 12, 1928 in Gordo, Alabama. Faye is the daughter of the late Andy A. and Lola Mae Pate Webb.

Faye graduated high school in Gordo, AL and worked as a teachers aid at the Sand Fork Elementary School, having retired in 1990 with 20 years experience. She was also an Avon representative for 47 years and in her spare time Faye enjoyed gardening, canning, watching Gilmer County High School girls basketball, and watching the TV show, Jeopardy on a daily basis.

Faye was also a Baptist by faith and long time member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church.

On July 10, 1951 Faye was united in marriage to Percy Arnold Tomblin, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2008.

Surviving are 3 children, Pamela Ann Tomblin-Ours of Petersburg WV, Frank Tomblin (Michelle) of Loving TX, Wendell Tomblin (Wanda) of Sand Fork; 9 grandchildren, Frankie A. Jr., Ryan, Dylan, Benjamin, and Alexander Tomblin, Ollie and Nicholas House, Joshua Holloway, and Sarah O. Jacquez; 11 great grandchildren, Cloey Herron, Noah Tomblin, Cassandra Drennen, Alexis Carr, Ryder, Rayden, Makenzie, and Greyson Tomblin, Isaac Grayson, Jack B., and Lucian J. Jacquez; and 1 great-great grandson, Jack Herron.

Along with her parents and husband, Faye is preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Misty Lei Tomblin; 1 brother, James Elmer Webb; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Ours.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Fork Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
