Frances Madge Chadwell, 91, of Weston

Frances Madge Chadwell, 91, peacefully departed this life on May 14, 2018, at her daughter's home in Weston, WV, after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 27, 1926, on Linn Camp Run at Normantown, WV, the daughter of Frank and Olga (Kennedy) James.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dallas, her daughter-in-law, Brenda Chadwell, 2 brothers, Jack and Ewing James and 4 sisters, Mary Wilmoth, Bess Norman, Ruth Turner, Joan Huff, and Maple Dehart.

She is survived by son Ronald "Rick" Chadwell of Spencer, WV, daughter Lois Cruz of Weston, WV; grandchildren Melissa (Brian) Davis of Harrisville, WV, Steven (Jessi) Barczyk of Pottstown, PA, Sarah Barczyk of Durham, NC, Jessica (Damon) Harvey of Parma Heights, OH, Rachel Cruz of Cleveland, OH, Daniel Cruz of Weston, WV and Jonathan Cruz of Weston, WV; and by great-grandchildren David, Kylie, Brendan, Let, Tabitha, Natalie and Mick.

Frances was saved by God's grace as a girl and baptized into Lower Steer Run Baptist Church where she remained a member all her life. She attended Peach Tree School through the eighth grade, obtained her GED, then earned a bachelor's degree from Glenville State College and a master's degree from LaVerne University. She taught first grade throughout her career, in Blakeley, WV, and Elyria, OH. She loved and faithfully followed the Lord as the foundation of her life, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Frances was unfailingly loving and kind to everyone, and was the very heart of her family, who will sorely miss her. "She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. "

A funeral service will be conducted at the Lower Steer Run Baptist Church near Normantown at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018. Burial will follow in the Boggs Cemetery at Orton. Friends and family will be received from 3-4 Saturday afternoon at the Church.
