Jeannette Lee Simons, 82, of Orma

Jeannette Lee Simons, 82, of Orma, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at the home of her daughter, after an extended illness.

She was born October 6, 1935 at Spencer, a daughter of the late Dennis Alfred and Goldie McCoy Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garold G. Simons; daughter, Rebecca Moss; stepson, Jerry Simons; sister, Mary Ann Hoffman.

Survivors include four children, Annette Spaur of Spencer, Nannette Sampson of Arnoldsburg, Dennis Spaur also of Arnoldsburg and Tammy Houchin of Orma; two stepchildren, Terry L. Carter of Parkersburg and Thomas C. Simons of Gassaway; two nieces, whom she helped raise, after the death of her sister, Angela A. Hoffman Potter and Laura A. Hoffman Pauley; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.

Jeannette was a retired social worker, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Dean Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Blessed Hope Cemetery, Spencer.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the funeral home.
