RITCHIE HIRES NEW SCHOOL SUPER

Ritchie County Schools has hired a new superintendent.

James G. Brown has been hired on a three-year contract to serve as the superintendent.

Brown, who is the current director of curriculum and instruction for Pleasants County Schools, comes to Ritchie County with a long background in education.

He served as the assistant director with the West Virginia Department of Education between 2008-2010.

Brown is also a former superintendent with both the McDowell and Raleigh County School districts.

Rick Coffman, the current superintendent in Ritchie County, is set to retire June 30, at which point Brown will assume the role.
