WOMAN CUTS MAN HEAD OFF - A Mercer County Judge made a ruling in a murder case where a woman accused of cutting a man's head off in West Virginia.

According to Prosecuting Attorney George Sitler, Roena Mills was found competent to stand trial.

Mills is accused of second-degree murder after she was found covered in blood on April 1, 2018. She allegedly decapitated Bo White at a home in the Lerona area of Mercer County. A preliminary hearing in the case will be held on Friday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m.

ORIGINAL: PARKERSBURG INCIDENT - A Parkersburg man is facing felony charges after police say he held his girlfriend hostage and threatened to shoot police officers.

Parkersburg Police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Covert Street about 1:25 p.m. Thursday after getting a call that a man was holding his girlfriend at knifepoint inside the residence.

Police say John W. Jordan, 58, had called a mental-health agency hotline saying he had a female captive and threatening "suicide by police officer."

When officers arrived at the residence, a negotiator made telephone contact with Jordan and could her the woman screaming in the background. At that time, police say Jordan claimed to have a shotgun and threatened to shoot officers.

After about 15 minutes, police say Jordan brought the woman onto a porch and held her in a headlock while telling officers he had a knife.

Police say he pulled her back inside but that she was able to escape and run outside.

Police say Jordan then came out of the building a short time later and was arrested.

$8,000 GUN THEFT - A Raleigh County man has been arrested after deputies said he stole guns worth over $8,000 from a home in Beckley.

On May 4, 2018 the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Second Avenue in Beckley where they were told eight guns and several tools had been stolen. According to the victim, the guns are worth $8,250.

According to court documents, the sheriff's department obtained a search warrant for Garrett Prince's home. During the search they found the victims tools.

Court documents state during an interview with deputies, Prince admitted to stealing the guns and tools.

Prince remains in the Southern Regional Jail on $25,000.
