Henry Crafton Sauer, Jr., 74, of Orma

(05/09/2018)
Henry Crafton Sauer, Jr., 74, of Orma, WV passed away at his home on Monday, May 7, 2018.

He was born March 4, 1944 in Dundalk, Maryland, a son of the late Henry Crafton Sauer, Sr. and Lorraine Weis Sauer.

He was the devoted father of Paul E. Sauer, Sr. and his wife, Nina; loving grandfather of Paul E. "PJ" Sauer, Christopher Sauer, Kyle Sauer, Terra Haun and 5 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters Freda "Sally" Unverzagt, Germaine "Gerri" D. Johnson and long-time companion, Gay N. Sauer and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Henry C. Sauer, III; sister, Lorrain A.A. Jordan; brother, Robert D. Sauer, Sr. Henry was born and raised in Dundalk, Maryland. He enjoyed the water and loved boating, fishing, and crabbing. He later expanded his interests to hunting with friends and family on the Eastern Shore, even trying his hand at bear and wild boar. Henry also had a love for horses. He had a small farm in Pennsylvania where he boarded and raised several of his own horses.

His latest adventure was in West Virginia. Never one to sit still, he started with a 100-acre mountainside farm with an old house for hunting and transformed it into a beautiful relaxing home. Henry's love of story-telling is legendary; he could spin the most extraordinary tales so convincingly you believed him, until you heard the little laugh he couldn't contain when he knew he had gotten you. Henry will be missed by many.
